Discuss five main steps you will follow to improve as you prepare towards your dream job

Over time, I need to do some things to achieve my career aspirations and demonstrate a keen interest in the chosen industry. Times will continue changing, but my ambition will not be faded. Achieving my dreams will require a lot of effort and much more colorful resume. The steps that will guarantee securing my dream job includes;

1.     Thinking hard about what my ‘dream job’ is

Putting more thought into the job to pursue will save me from dissatisfaction later in life. This will facilitate realizing dream job that I will enjoy and excel in. Being clear in what the dream job entails will ensure that I look at the ads to get the idea of the necessary skills and desired experience.

2.     Making a detailed plan

Planning will enable me identify what I want, note what I want to have, where I want to be, and the goals I want to achieve in the next five years. I understand that not all my goals can be achieved instantly, so planning for the future – certification in a new skill, and setting a goal to begin a job hunt are things I may be able to do over the course of the year.

3.     Being prepared to take risks

Preparing to start a new job – or even considering it – can be a daunting experience. I will not allow the fear of change to hold me back, preventing me from chasing my dreams. Taking risks will eventually lead to a better outcome.

4.     Making contacts – especially those that prove useful

I know that getting my dream job may not be determined by what I know, but who I know. Contacts will have the ability to open doors. This will be the time to make the most in my LinkedIn profile. Reaching out the right people will result in one giant step in the right direction.

5.     Working hard while not neglecting everything else

Becoming successful in my dream career will require hard work. I will be prepared to study hard, work hard, whatever it takes to get where I want to be. I will ensure that I get to know my skills and understand what is right for me.

Explain with the help of examples how you will prepare for an interview

Preparing for an interview primarily means taking time to thoughtfully consider my goals and qualifications relative to the position and employer. To accomplish this, I should perform research on the company and carefully review the job description to understand why I would be a good fit. First, I will carefully examine the job description. I will use the employer’s posted job as a guide. Here I will review aspects like qualifications, qualities, and background the employer is looking for in an ideal candidate. Aligning myself to the details will enable the employer to see me as qualified. For example, the job description will give me a hint about the questions the interviewer may ask throughout the session. Secondly, I will consider why I want the job and why am qualified. I will b prepared to explain my interest in the opportunity and why I think am the best for the role. Thirdly, I will perform research on the company and role; for example, on the product and service, roles and the corporate culture. Fourthly, I will consider my answers to common interview questions. I will develop an elevator pitch that quickly describes who am I, what I do, and what I want. For instance, a question on why I want to work for the organization will enable me to learn about the products, services, mission, history and culture of the company. Other preparation approaches will include practicing my specking and body language, printing hard copies of my CV, preparing my travel arrangements, selling myself, and getting ready to follow up after the interview.

The study of career development has enabled me to learn better aspects of dream job and improve my capabilities. It has also helped me to manage time efficiently. I have been able to my skillset and move into tasks with greater responsibilities. The program has helped me build a strong sense of loyalty between me and employers.
