The statement means that for any business to succeed, there must be a good relationship between the business organisation and the customers or the external environment. This could be built through adverts and public relations. The more relationships a business create, the more connections and customers it acquires consequently leading to success of that business. Management of the external environment encourages increase in production and sales of the products.
