Question #7641

garath took part in a 26mile road race he ran the first 15 miles at an average speed of x mph, he ran the last 11 miles at a speed of x -2, write down an expression on terms of x for the time he took to complete the race.

Expert's answer

Let time value be t(x). Time he was driving with a speed x is (15/x). With speed

(x-2) is (11/(x-2)). Sum of them is t(x) = (15/x)+(11/(x-2))

(x-2) is (11/(x-2)). Sum of them is t(x) = (15/x)+(11/(x-2))
