They were viable, and displayed both normal development and a normal life span. In addition, they displayed no ataxic symptoms or neurodegeneration even at 30 months of age.

Yes since SCA1 patients have loss of coordination of the limbs and trunk, unstable gait, dysarthric speech, and nystagmus.
