Define Database Management system? Why we use a Database Management system and how it is better than File System?

It is software which is designed to store, retrieve, update and maintain the large set of records in very efficient and organized way.

We use the database to store very huge set of records in efficient and organize way so that we can access and retrive the records in very less period of time. Be avoid the file system for the very large set of data base because there it is time consuming for searching a particular set of records, update and delete records etc and there is a chance to loss the and damage the file and also it is costly but database will be much better and efficient and cost effective.
