Assign a static IP address to a computer in Windows Server 2008 R2

We need to register the static IP address in settings of network connection.

After the reset of the server, we log into the system under the account with the rights of the administrator.

Now we right-click on the network connection of "Ethernet" and we select the “Properties” item.

We choose "Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)" and we press the Properties button.

After this select the “Use the following IP address” item and we specify the free IP address, a mask of a subnet and a gateway. Pay attention, you have to understand in advance how your network is arranged and to know what IP addresses are free.

In the field of "Preferred DNS server" we specify the IP address of your DNS server.

The DNS server which is on the domain controller is specified in our case.

We press the OK button.

In the Ethernet Properties window, we press the Close button.
