Answer to Question #43327 in Physics for Benjamin K

Question #43327
Atoms on the surface of a silicon crystal form lines that are spaced 1.05x10^-9m apart. If you wanted to use the diffraction of electrons to study the spacing of these lines of atoms then what momentum, p, should the electrons in your electron beam have? Explain any assumptions that you use.

Hint: The electron's velocity is such that non-relativistic expressions for momentum can be used i.e. p=mv.
