The equivalent circuit of a pyroelectric detector may be taken to be a current source i feeding into a parallel combination of a capacitor C and a load resistor R.if P is the dipole moment per unit volume of the pyroelectric material,show that i can be written i=a(dp/dT)(dT/dt) where T is the temperature of the detector an dT/dt the rate of increase of temperature with time due to the absorption of radiation.
