The pressure of an idea gas is 4atm. If the only change is to increase the temperature by factor of 4, what will be the new pressure of gas. (pv=nkt) ?

Equation of state for an ideal gas says


"PV=nkT"

So, if volume of gas is constant and temperature increases by factor of 4, then pressure increases by factor 4 too. Finally, the new pressure of gas is

"4\\times 4\\:\\rm atm=16\\:\\rm atm"
