Collect 4 string of length of steel iron copper and brass. The thickness of wire in all the springs should also be same. First take the steel spring. Fix its one end with a rigid stand and fix a hanger toward the other end on which weight can be placed. Also fix a scale along its side towards the other end.
place a 50g load on the hanger and measure the extension. Add 50g load on the hanger in about 5 steps and measure the extension each time. Pot a graph between load amd extension. Repeat this activity with springs made of iron, copper and brass.plote load extemsion graph in each case compare these graphs.which of the above materials obey Hook's law?
