Suppose that the Earth orbits the Sun in a perfect circle. Does the Sun do any work on the Earth?

Gravitation is potential force.
Thus, every object that orbit Sun conserves its total energy (sum of kinetic
and potential energies)
Hence, if object's energy is conserved, no work is done onthe object.
So, Sun does no work on the Earth.
