a ball slowly rolls off a 1 meter high table and falls straight down. how long does it take for the ball to hit the floor and how fast will it be going just before it hits the floor? the accelerations of the ball due to gravity is 9.81 m/sec^2

We know that

H = gT²/2,

where H is the height of the table, g is the gravity acceleration and t is falling time. So, it will take

T = √(2H/g) = √(2*1[m]/9.81[m/s²]) ≈ 0.45 seconds

for the ball to hit the floor. The velocity of the ball just before it hits the floor will be

V = gT = 9.81[m/s²]*0.45[s] ≈ 4.41 m/s.
