Answer to Question #1041 in Mechanics | Relativity for peter dillon
if a pipe of 125mm diameter has a venturi installed in it, with a throat diameter of half that of the pipe, and a discharge coefficient of 0.98, what would the pressure loss head be through the venturi be measured on a manometer with oil of 900kgm3. The main pipe has water of 1000kgm3. The mass flow into the pipe is 24.25 m/s. The answer I get is 3.1m indicated on the manometer. Thanks very much
