Answer to Question #39223 in Electricity and Magnetism for Anon

Question #39223
Please explain me how this works:

If I put only half a dielectric plate into a charged parallel plate capacitor that's not connected to the voltage source... what happens with the dielectric? So, it's only half way in, this dielectric plate, in a capacitor... will it rotate, be pushed out, be pulled in, or stay still?

What would happen if the capacitor was connected to the voltage source?

Please explain to me how does electrical energy of capacitor work here... what happens?

Thanks in advance.
