Biggest current problem with electric vehicles is storage capacity and limited range. Why not use the rotating parts of the drive train as true electrical generators. Encircle the drive shaft with housing made of appropriate material as the stator with shaft as the rotor, generating electricity - more than regenerative braking which only works when brakes are applied rather than whole time parts are rotating?
