Microscopic theory of electrostatic : In an ideal dielectric material, it does not have any free charges, charges are bounded in this. But at the microscopic level, these bound charges will behave as the dipole, in the external electric field, these induced electric dipole in the external electric field will align along the direction of the electric field.

Macroscopic theory of electrostatic : The overall effect of the electrostatic by which the displacement of the entire positive charge is along the positive plate of the external electric field and the negative charge will be along the negative plate of the external electric field in the dielectric relatively.
