The total kinetic energy of the system is equal to the sum of the kinetic energy of a particle of mass moving with velocity of the centre of mass and the kinetic energy of motion of the individual particles relative to the centre of mass.this is main theoritical aspect dynamics of system of particles.

The main point is that the bodies are rigid by reducing the parameters that describe the configuration of the system to the translation and rotation of reference frames attached to each body.
