Answer to Question #175512 in Atomic and Nuclear Physics for Pritha

Question #175512

Let us define a rapidity distribution as y = R(y) - 0.5,        R(y) = Random number between 0 to 1 (Photons)

where a J/ψ (neutral pion) particle decays into two muons in the rest frame with pT as exp [X2] and X2 = -X1b where X1 = 5R(y) and b = 0.15

Calculate invariant mass of the J/ψ (neutral pion) particle using two steps.

1)                   Decay initially in rest frame

2)                   Then, using generalized Lorentz transformation take it to lab frame.
