Traditionally, the atmosphere has been referred to in 4 layers, tropo, strato, meso and thermo w/ ionto and exo being considered part of thermo. Now I see the exosphere being referred to as its own distinct layer, which is most correct? when did this paradigm shift take place? Thanks
