Big data is a term used to refer to the study and applications of data sets that are too complex for traditional data-processing application software to adequately deal with. Modern usage of the term "big data" tends to refer to the use of predictive analytics, user behavior analytics, or certain other advanced data analytics methods that extract value from data, and seldom to a particular size of data set.

To re-educate yourself in to remain competitive you should be flexible, creative, be ready to create new ways of solving new challenges, and solve more and more complicated tasks using the newest statistic programs and software.
