let X, Y, Z are the three collinear points then these points form length XY, YZ, XZ in which point Y is lies between the length XZ, divides the length in the given ratio 1:5 as

"\\frac{XY}{YZ}=\\frac{1}{5}"

the length XZ = XY + YZ

let the length of XY is 'p' then the length of YZ is = 5*p = 5p

so, the length of XZ is = p + 5p = 6p

thus the ratio of length XZ to the length XY and YZ is = XZ:XY:YZ

= 6p:p:5p

= 6:1:5
