Question #6660
I drive across bridge 8 TIMES PER wk i'm willing to pay for the 8th trip $0.50, person 2 goes over it 10 times/wk is willing to pay final trip is $0.30 taxes will rise to pay for a new bridge, how much additional taxes would I be willing to pay?
Expert's answer
Let P be a payment for a new bridge, A be the part of P that will be get from taxes and T be a collecting term in weeks. Then if there are no other persons who drive across the bridge new payment may be, for example, A/(T*(8+10)).
The statement is not clear, we have no sufficient conditions to determine the price uniquely.
