Let's use classical definition of probability. Due to it, probability of event A equals number of favourable outcomes divided by total number of outcomes: p(A)=n/N.
In our case, event A is rolling number 5 (or cube landing on number 5, the probability is the same). n=1 because we need number 5. N=6 because cube has 6 different faces. Thus, p(A)=1/6
