Answer to Question #123104 in Law for VINOSHNI

Question #123104
•Alden had just bought a brand new car. He serviced it regularly and had great confidence in his mechanic, Timmy. One day, he took the car to Timmy for its 10, 000 km service. He had to leave the car at the garage for several hours. Alden received a docket that stated his name and registration number together with his contact details.
There was a notice displayed at the counter stating the followings but it cannot be viewed clearly because the main door is blocking them.
“All care taken but we assume no responsibility for any damage or loss incurred whilst the vehicle is in our custody, howsoever caused.”
During the time Alden left the car with Timmy, the garage was broken into and Alden’s valuable stereo system he left in the car was taken.
Advise Alden whether he is bound by the notice displayed at the counter.
