Answer to Question #77779 in Physical geography for Lauren Palau

Question #77779
Using the topographic base map, zoom in so that Wauna Lake is centered in your window view. You can just see Bonneville Dam on the imagery overlay to the southwest of Wauna Lake. Wauna Lake is on the deposits of a landslide that occurred sometime between 1600 and 1760 and may be related to the 1700 Cascadia Earthquake. Look at the location of the landslide deposits on the Oregon side and the lobed nature of the deposits on the Washington State side of the Columbia River. Do you think this large, wet landslide originated in Oregon and stopped at the Columbia River or originated I Washington and crossed the Columbia River? Why?
