An example of adjusting difference is an autonomous car that checks the location of the road marking and corrects it's position accordingly.

Timing difference: difference in time required to change the state of a system. An example is a speed sensor that measures the time required for vehicles to travel a certain distance and shows a recommended speed of motion above the road.
