Yes , we can change the air fuel ratio. Carburetor is device used in vehicles to prepare air fuel mixture and depend on the requirement governor tells the carburetor to prepare air fuel mixture according.

The effect of changing air/fuel are following

1. If we prepare very lean mixture means use very less fuel then it will effect on the engine erosion but it will increase the efficiency of the engine.
2. If it will prepare rich mixture then there efficiency decreases but power increases and in that condition also engine erosion may increase.
