now point A is the starting position. Then they hike south for 2.5kms. Then turn 45 degrees. So now to calculate the proper distance, we will use trigonometry.
AB is 2.5.
BC is 1.6.
ANS 1 & 2 --> So BD turns out to be ( 1.6 cos45) and BE (1.6 sin45)
ANS 3 --> Now, since you know AD and BE(which is congruent to DC) you can use pythagorus theorem to find AC
