Is buffering the same as neutralisation of acid/base solutions. please explain

Buffering is the ability of the solution to hold constant pH.
Neutralization is a chemical reaction in which an acid and a base react to form a salt.

Neutralization is part of the buffering. Neutralization is used to maintain the constant pH, but buffering and neutralization are not equivalent.
