When methane is burnt it produces CO2 and H2O Equation: CH4 + 2O2 → CO2 + 2H2O The exhaust of the kiln would then contain the CO2 produced and the unreacted balance of the air which is predominantly nitrogen. Water vapor would also be present in the exhaust gas stream.
