Rate equation of a second order reaction having initial concentration of the reactant [R]0  and after time t concentration becomes [R] and the rate constant is k

1/[R]=kt+1/[R]0

For present reaction, [R] = 0.005M, [R]0  = 0.04 M, t = 10 minutes,

Putting these values,

k = 17.5 M−1·min−1 (Ans.)
