Answer to Question #38872 in Organic Chemistry for Alamri

Question #38872
Hi,
I just want to ask you that how long the covalent bond would take to be formed ? And how the buffer salt concentration could affect the rate of covalent bond formation ?
Cuz, currently I'm studying the mode of action of some compounds, by which they r interacting with the hemoglobin molecules !

Thanks in advance

Probably you meant the bond between the compounds and the iron from& hemoglobin. The kinetics of this bond& formation& depends on charge of the reacted particle. If this particle is uncharged, then the salt concentration will not give the significant contribution to reaction rate: the change in it will depend on changes in& hemoglobin structure. If the reacted particle is charged, then the increase in salt concentration will result in the reaction rate drop due to lowering the activity of charged particles.
