1 ton of solution = 1 000 kg of solution
1 000 kg of solution includes 40 % of formaldehyde and it is:

m = 1 000 * 40/100 % = 400 kg = 400 000 g

Reaction for this process is :

2CH3OH + O2 ---> 2CH2O + 2H2O

Now it is possible to calculate volume of O2

v 400 000
2CH3OH + O2 ---> 2CH2O + 2H2O

22.4 2 * 30

v = 400 000*22.4 /(2 * 30) = 149333.3 L
