Why does bromination of biphenyl occur predominantly at the ortho and para positions?

In case of ortho and para attack one resonating structure has the positive charge adjacent to the phenyl ring which stabilizes the positive charge by resonance effect where as in meta attack no such structure is possible so phenyl group is ortho para director
