Why is a melting range observed, rather then a "sharp" melting point?

"Sharp" melting point is characteristic to pure substances and reason of some
melting range is impurity. in General in our world there are not a lot of 100%
pure substances. Almost all substances include some (maybe very little amount) of
impurity.
