The first noble gas compound was obtained by Bartlett. He prepared a red compound O2PtF6. And then he realized that the enthalpy of the first ionization of oxygen in the compound was almost the same as that of Xenon.
He prepared it by mixing PtF6 (platinum hexafluoride) with xenon. And the product was the first compound of noble gas (also red).
