Answer to Question #5863 in Inorganic Chemistry for Jamil

In the electrolysis of aqueous copper sulphate, i know that copper is preferred for discharge at the cathode because it is less reactive than hydrogen but i don't understand why OH- is preferred to be discharged instead of SO4(2-)
