Answer to Question #27026 in Inorganic Chemistry for Hassan Mehmood

Question #27026
Dear Sir/Madam
I am doing my final year research in the field of Nano Technology,i had synthesize Iron Oxide Nano Particles by the following reaction at 200 Degree Centigrade
NaOH+KOH+Fe(NO3)2=NaNO3+KNO3+Fe(OH)2
Fe(OH)2=FeO+H2O

But the product i have get at the end is not FeO but Fe2O3,can you please tell me the chemical reaction for Fe2O3 with the same reactants.
2)I want to coat the surface of Iron Oxide Nano Particles with a suitable biological compond such as Poly ethylene Glycol, but is this possible for Fe2O3?
Will the surface of Fe2O3 is active for this attachment practically and how will this possible if it is not favorable for Fe2O3

3)Can we change Fe2O3 Nano Particles to Fe3O4 Nano Particles?
