(i) 𝐢𝐢𝑙4 is stable to heat while 𝑃𝑏𝐢𝑙4 readily decomposes when heated

(ii) Carbondioxide is a gas while silicon dioxide is a solid

A) CCl4 is stable because of strong vanderwall force of attraction due to small size of carbon and chlorine.

But In pbcl4, size of Pb is large so this bond is weak and easily can break upon heating.


B) CO2 have less force of attraction but sio2 structure is network type structure which makes it very stable and solid.
