One way to do this is to change the units into common units and then add them up.

For example we can change L to cL by multplying by 100.

1L=100cL

7.25L = 7.25x100cL = 725cL


Adding 725cL + 875cL = 1600cL


Changing cL to mL

1cL=10mL

1600cL = 1600x10mL = 16000mL
