photoelectric effect shows particle nature of electron . In photoelectric effect incident energy incident over metalic plate then some of the energy absorb by the metalic plate and rest of the energy transform into the kinetic energy of electron.

we can apply concept of photoelectric effect over the hydrogen atom and uni electron system

if 20ev energy incident by the H atom then 13.6 ev energy absorb by Hatom for ionisation then kinetic energy of electron is (20-13.6)ev .
