Answer to Question #73527 in General Chemistry for jack

Question #73527
hi, I have natural gas reacting via partial oxidation to produce syngas. methane makes up 89% mole fraction. the other 11% is ethane etc. my question is how will other hydrocarbons react

Partial oxidation of hydrocarbons. This process, occurring at temperatures above 1300 degrees, is the thermal oxidation of hydrocarbons. The formula for this reaction is:
CnH2n+2 + 1/2nO2 → nCO + (n + 1)H2.
This method is applicable to any feedstock that contains hydrocarbons, but the most commonly used is a high-boiling fraction of oil-fuel oil.
С2Н6+ 5/2O2 -> 2СO + 3Н2O

my temp of reaction is 1473K. my main reaction is partial oxidation of methane. ratio of 2:1 for syngas as this stream is going into Fischer Tropsch process. I have methane being partially oxidised and fully oxidised to form co2 and h2o. how will ethane, propane and butane react as they are in small amounts.
