Ok...so had a question on a test: What is the atomic mass of carbon?
a. 6 amu
b. 12 amu(as a whole number)
c. 12.01 amu
d. cannot be determined
I chose C 12.01 amu. It was marked incorrect. I don't understand why? Can you help?

As far as I can see, correct answer should be C. It is possible that the question was a reference to the amu system and was about carbon-12, in that case it should be b.
