Answer to Question #214317 in General Chemistry for Sheik Sharmila

Question #214317

Prepare a solution of CaCO3 using percent composition by mass (13 %), molarity (2.5 M), molality (1.4 m), and normality (5.0 N).

Expert's answer

Use of a standard commercial calcium solution, 1 g/L, is preferred. Alternatively this solution may be prepared by dissolving 2.5 g of calcium carbonate, CaC03, in sufficient hydrochloric acid (concentrated hydrochloric acid diluted 1:10) to dissolve it completely and making up to one liter with distilled water.
