Question #178846

At what temperature does 5.00 g of H2 gas occupy a volume of 50.0 L at a pressure of 1.01 atm? (Hint- Use 1.01 grams for the molar mass of Hydrogen (H), but don't forget how many hydrogens to use)

PV = nRT

T = PV/nR

R is a constant with a value of 0.0821L.atm/mol.K

5.00gH2 (1mol H2/2g H2) = 2.5 mol H2

T = (1.01atm ×50.0L)/ 2.5mol H2× (0.0821.L.atm/mol.k)

= 50.5L.atm/0.20525L.atm/K

= 246K
