I had to do an experiment with blue dye and bleach. I know that the rate of the dye and bleach both has a value of one making it an overall reaction of two. What I'm having a problem understanding is why the dye has a reaction rate of 1

The product has a resultant reaction rate of 1 even with the overall reaction of 2, because the concentration of one of the products does not affect the reaction rate of the product.
