Phosphorus is required for photosynthesis and for storage and transportation of nutrients throughout the plant. Phosphorus deficiency is seen when plants fail to grow to their normal size or take too long to mature.
Magnesium is a micronutrient, which is required for enzymes in plant cells to perform properly. Magnesium is also the central atom in the chlorophyll molecule, enabling photosynthesis. Magnesium deficiency is seen as yellow leaves with green veins.
