How did you titrate acetic acid of unknown concentration in the lab?

Indicator phenolphthalein was added to the flask with acid. The solution was transparent, as phenolphthalein is colorless under the acidic conditions. Then, sodium hydroxide, which is a strong base, was added by drops and the solution was mixed. When the solution changed color to pink, titration was stopped. The volume of used sodium hydroxide was recorded.
