Answer to Question #66503 in Other Biology for Duaa

Question #66503
Why malarial concept called hypothesis?
Expert's answer
According to malaria hypothesis, certain human genetic polymorphisms, especially those affecting red blood cells (RBCs), have been selected to high frequencies because they have protected against the effects of malarial infections.

Along with that, there are several different genetic mutations that drive this hypothesis. However, this does not relate to other genetic mutations. However, concept is a theory, which is confirmed by numerous practical cases/observations. Since this is not the case for malaria, its explanation is called hypothesis.
