Answer to Question #51734 in Other Biology for sahil raza khan

Question #51734
Give a brief discussion about dark and light reaction with equations during photosynthesis.
Expert's answer
During light-dependent part of the photosynthesis the following reaction occurs:
6CO2+12H2O+light -> C6H12O6+6O2+6H2O
As result of this reaction two important compounds are formed: ATP and NADPH.
During light-independent part of the photosynthesis ATP and NADPH are used tofix carbon dioxide and to release carbohydrates:
3CO2+6NADPH+5H2O+9ATP -> Glyceraldehide-3-Phosphate+6NADP+ +9ADP+ +2H++8Pi
